Late-August photo round-up

Photos that haven't yet made it onto my blog, taken this month. Some usual, some unusual. Below: a snail racing along the asphalted service road adjacent to the S7 expressway, south of Warsaw airport.

Below: a large, white toadstool on the edge of an orchard in Jakubowizna. Sezon grzybowy – the mushroom foraging season – is coming. But don't pick these.

The sun sets earlier and earlier (19:25 today, an hour later than it will be on Equilux, which falls on 25 September). Below: here it approaches the horizon over the DK50, the turn-off for Chynów. 

Below: two ultralights flying overhead. There are two lądowiska (landing strips) nearby, Wincentów and Kukały, with a further three slightly further out (Słomczyn, Żyrów and Nowa Wieś near Warka). This means on clear days there's a fair amount of recreational flying Left: SP-STRT, a Polish-built Ekolot KR-030 Topaz, and right, SP-SVEG, a Slovenian-built  Pipistrel Virus SW.

Got to have a cat pic to end this round-up, so here are (from left) Pacuś, Arkcio and Céleste dining al fresco.The kittens are much bigger than a month a go, but are still kittens, and still a joy.

And finally, this one got a lot of likes on Facebook – a feline patrol coming out to greet me upon my return home. Scrapper (Skrapcio), followed by Pacyfik (Pacio), Czestuś, Arkturus (Arkcio) and Céleste.
