Heron over Jeziorki

Ungainly in the air due to its habit of tucking in its long neck into an 'S' shape, the grey heron can be seen at this time of year over the wetlands at the end of ul. Trombity. I set off with the Nikkor 80-400mm to see what interesting birdlife was around; this guy flew over, circled a few times and headed back south. The back of the head is tucked into the torso in such as way as to make the gap between them invisible.

I also spotted a marsh harrier and a seagull (as opposed to the black-headed variety more common around these parts).

This time two years ago
